Keep Away

Rich South 73 (24-4)
Rich
Central 63 (18-9)
With
out their senior leader Pierre Brooks, who was out due to
breaking team regulations, Rich South was able
to hold of Rich Central in the Regional Championship game
Friday at Richton Park. Rich South got off to a fast start
as they opened the game with a 19-3 run. Macari Brooks and
Tyron Allen each scored 8 points a piece. Rich Central had
an impressive run in the fourth quarter, however the Olympians
couldn't handle the efforts of Brooks and Allen. In the
final minute Allen went 4 for 4 from the line and Brooks sealed
the game with a dunk.
Extra Point-
Macari Brooks was not Picked as a member of the Chicago
Sun-Times All Area Team. "If felt a little disrespected.
So I came out and did what I had to do", said Brooks. "I had to
prove my point". Brooks is a good player, maybe the most
high flying player in the state but sometimes it's not how you
perform on the court but it's what you do off the court as well.
Friday was the first time in a month Brooks has started.
The past month Brooks came of the bench due to "off the court"
issues.
